AWS IMDA Joint Innovation Centre

The IMDA-AWS Joint Innovation Centre (JIC) @ PIXEL is AWS’s first JIC in Southeast Asia, serving as an innovation hub for enterprises, startups and governments in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The centre will feature digital innovation that are built on AWS suite of services that inspire a smarter way of working, playing and living. The center is an extension of AWS Singapore’s Cloud Innovation Centre (CIC), as well as IMDA’s PIXEL and Open Innovation Platform (OIP) initiatives.

Learn about how the AWS Cloud Innovation Center Program has leveraged on co-innovation labs to create smart solutions that can be integrated with robots.
	Smart Playing – Interpretive Art with AWS’ Generative AI Paint a picture within seconds through a virtual artist that you can build within a day. With the existing models that you can use from Hugging Face’s library, you no longer have to build your own generativeAI tool from scratch.
	Smart Working/Living – Digital Twins for Sustainability Digital twins help you optimize building operations, increase production output, and improve equipment performance. With the ability to use existing data from multiple sources, create virtual representations of any physical environment, and combine existing 3D models with real-world data, you can now harness digital twins to create a holistic view of your operations faster and make it easier to automate carbon accounting and improve sustainability efforts and with less effort. See how IMDA Accredited Company - Virspatial Technologies leverages on the “Digital Twins” technology to create smart buildings. Virspatial Technologies will feature a video of their energy management offerings which include sensors, a digital twin, and easy viewing of facility information, personnel intelligence, and key stats.
	Smart Working - Workplace Safety and Inspection Interior Inspector uses off-the-shelf 360 cameras to provide automated defect detection, localization, and reporting within internal building spaces for facilities management and construction site personnel to enhance quality assessment and periodic maintenance processes.
	Smart Living - Voice Authentication Safety Witness firsthand the power of voice for driving security and customer experience in consumer applications, while also observing Pindrop’s unmatched ability to authenticate legitimate users while detecting bad actors, recorded voices, and deepfakes. Pindrop is an example of a successful company that benefited from both AWS and IMDA programmes to start their business in Singapore. Founded in 2012 and based in Atlanta, Pindrop came to Singapore around 2022 and is part of AWS ISV Accelerate Partner Program and it is one of IMDA’s Accredited companies.
	Smart Cloud - Chaos Kitty: Cloud Security Made Fun and Easy Chaos Kitty is a security chaos engineering game that puts customers in the seat of an incident responder. Security and Compliance is a shared responsibility between AWS and the customer. While AWS is responsible for protecting the infrastructure that runs all of the services offered in the AWS Cloud, AWS users are responsible of the Security in the Cloud - AWS users must determine the amount of configuration work that they perform as part of their security responsibilities. This game is a fun way to learn how important it is to automate the security in the cloud.
	Large-scale Crowd Simulations in AWS As the complexity of urban routines and major events increases, planning and managing of crowd flow become a necessity. Large crowds in high densities poses high risk of stampede. An agent-based simulation allows for evaluation of scenarios and mitigation strategies that cannot be efficiently validated in the physical environment. It provides a way to simulate scenarios to optimize new estate design, improve crowd flow, and prepare for dispersal during emergency situations. AWS SimSpace Weaver is a managed service offering from AWS which enables large-scale dynamic entities simulation. It speeds up realistic crowd simulations with human-like agent behavior, enabling faster decision-making.
